Sorry if this ends up a double-post, had some issues attempting to post it.

OK, I've been performing cleanup of old users/salespeople in our system (GP 7.5 btw).

I finally got all the users removed (manually, what a pain), and moved on to the salespeople (Cards > Sales > Salesperson).

First salesperson and I get a message saying: "Commissions exist for this salesperson. The salesperson record cannot be deleted."

Apparently we had GP setup to track commissions for all the salespeople - even though we don't use GP's payroll/commissions feature (we have a separate custom program for calculating that).

How might I be able to remove our old salespeople's commission history in order to remove the old salespeople?

Thanks.

remove sales history should do it

and they wonder why they call it Great Pains!

If I remove the Sales History though, that would remove the documents from SOP30200 as well wouldn't it?

yep...

kind of stuck hmm? you might get your var to help you out with the sql removal of the commission data as you have no need for it and then you may be able to delete it.

I've been asking for years for an inactive flag on a salesperson/territory. No one has taken that to heart. We hire and fire salesreps continually and setting one up each time is a royal pain. To make matters worse, the order entry people sometime pick the wrong salesrep and then it's a nightmare to have to go and fix it later.

Yes, ain't that the truth.

Hopefully the var will have something about removing that data - thanks for trying jazgeek.
