i am trying to delete a published replication object and when i try it slowly but surely makes the SQL server slow to a crawl. i have tried to delete it from enterprise manager and used t-sql commands tono avail. has anyone ever hadthis happen?

It may be because the merge agent is running.

In ent Mgr, Replication --> Agents right-click any that are running - Stop

You probably already did this..... just a thought
