I just downloaded a file, and now i am trying to delete it but it is telling me that there has been a sharing violation or that the file may be in use. Is there a way to see what application is using this file or is there a way to force the deletion of the file even though it is in use?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Hi,

Find the application you think is using the file in the taskmanager (even if the application crashed you might see it in here) and do "end task".

Then try to delete the file.

Best Regards

If you haven't already, try rebooting to free up the file lock, or boot to safe mode and try...
