I can't find the place to set explorer or computer so that when I delete a file, it refreshes the screen AND removes the icon. This was the default in Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, and XP. Now when I delete a file in Windows 7 Professional, the icon remains until I manually refresh. Annoying! Any way to set it so that you get a screen refresh when you delete or rename?

If you boot into Safe Mode does it still have the same issue? Have you preformed a System File Checker; sfc /scannow in the command prompt?

Preform sfc:
"Silence is golden, duct tape is silver...

Okay, issue resolved. Not really sure what I had changed, but when I reset the folder view to the default, this issue went away. Now when I delete, the icon disappears as well.

Thanks.
