Deleting a busy DT390 from the MD110

Hello,

We have a dead DT390 that we want to replace. However we cannot delete the old one in EMG. it sais the phone is busy. Calling the number it also gives a busy tone.
How can I overrule this, to delete the number and make it free to programm a new DT390 at that number
