I have a remote user to our Unity system. He has a typical mailbox. He reports that when he deletes his messages, they reappear back in his mailbox the next day as if they are new messages. He is apparently the only one with this issue. I checked the programming and it appears he is set up properly. Anybody else seen this?

Thanks,

Soop

define "typical". Is this integrated with Exchange or stand alone?
Is this unity or unity connection and what version?

Never seen that in my 14yrs installing Unity by the way.

This is a Unity Connection 8.5 integrated with Exchange. This is just a basic mailbox simular to all the others. Nothing special. It collects messages and then he deletes them after listening. Believe me when I say, I have never seen this happening on any TDM voicemail system. Im not new to the Unity but still learning it thoroughly. He has mentioned that after he listens to his message, the deletes it. A day or two later, he reports that the message is back in his regular mailbox again as new. I understand that when the message is deleted, it goes to a discard folder and can be retrieved if needed to a certain point. I am thikning maybe he is inadvertantly recalling these old messages. Like I said, I have not see this happen before but I have seen lots of silly user created problems.

Is it all deleted messages that come back or some? Is the user deleting from the phone or outlook?
You can delete and recreate their mailbox to make sure it is not a setting (don't know of such setting) but I'm pretty sure the user is doing something squirly via outlook.

if anything else fails, break the outlook integration for him and see if they issue continues in unity alone.

I forgot to ask, is this unity or unity connection?
If it is Unity then I guarantee it is something on Exchange or the users outlook settings/rules that causes that.
I would start looking that way and stop looking in Unity since Exchange is the message store.
