Ello,

Regarding: Filemaker Pro 6

I have question around records that may have been deleted. I am new to a company where the database is used as job sheet system for our lawyers. Items are recorded daily.

Somehow records and a monthy tally do not add up, and one person is saying that some of thier records are missing from random days in the week. The database was developed years ago and the admin for it left years ago. Basically I'm asking is there is away to tell (via a log fileof sorts?) if some has deleted records. Each user has a logon. I need to at least prove that records are not dissappering, or that they are. So is there a log file of sorts that I can examine to find find this information out?

would love an answer to this and thank you in advance for any light shed on my little problem.

Cheers

Hi,

As far as I know, there's no way to do this in Filemaker, unless the person who built the database built some type of audit file/table that keeps track of deleted records.
We've ran into problems like this in the past, and I've ended up just restoring a backup (which may be an option for you, if there's a backup that you can look at) and restoring the records that were missing. I haven't had time to put together any type of good auditing system, unfortunately.
