Hi

I have deleted a user from the Groupwise User List, but the user name still appears in the address book.

I have synchronised the post office and domain, and I have run maintenance routines but to no avail.

Can anyone point me to where I might be able to resolve this problem?

Many thanks

is she a pending operation?

how many domains do you have - if multiple check pending moves when connected to each domain

Hi terry712

I only have the one domain and post office, but I do have three domains listed under 'Internet Addressing'.

There are no pending move operations.

As I have deleted the user, I can't view the settings which might be causing the problem. Are there any other fix routines I can run?

in link configuration - you you still only see the one domain - or are you still seeing the old ghost of the primary
your 3 domain addresses - how are they configured?
are they all valid?
on the server do you see only one domain on the mta screen?

was your promotion to a primary domain from other thread - was it done cleanly as per tids - or do you have a ghost ?

Hi Terry712

I have only one domain in link configuration.

My three domain addresses are configures so that mail arrives for firstname.lastname@internetdomainname
I have the default set up (tick next to it) and two other internet domain names set up, which works just fine. All are valid.

The gwia / mta have only one domain.

Whats really interesting is that I went back to nwadmn32.exe and I was able to make the changes in there... Console One still refuses changes, reporting a pending move, but I can see the changes I have made in nwadmn32 in Console One (!)

I'm afraid the conversion to primsry domain was performed by a third party who is not available to comment at the moment.

Using nwadmn32 has resolved my immediate problem of making the change, but the 'pending move' problem is worrying.

Hi terry712

I have found a TID (TID10010768) relating to GW5.5 recommending rebuilding the Post Office.

I will do so and let you know how this goes.

Regards

confused - which grpwise do you have

if it's 5.5 then you will not see it in console1

if it's 6 and above the using nwadmin to admin is a big no-no - it may well corrupt the db. i personally would remove the snapins from win32 so no groupwise stuff can be done from nwadmin.

rebuild should fix most stuff

Hi terry712

Oh cr*p

I'm running GW6.5 (just upgraded from 5.5)

See thread12-781766

I used nwadmn32 out of frustration with Console One - bad idea.

I will run the dsrepair and rebuild.

Probably not helpful, but...

I deleted a user in nwadmin the other day and they were still in the addressbook.
I went into ConsoleOne and found they were still there, so deleted them there aswell.
Some sort of error came up about them not existing, but the user disappeared anyway.

Hope that makes sense,
Emily

Hi Emilyo

Thanks for that one, tried it but the user does not exist anywhere except the address book (?!?).

I will rebuild the post office, hopefully the re-indexing should dump out this record.

Look in the "Membership" of the PO and see if the deleted user is listed there. There's a good chance they will be. ConsoleOne/PO/Properties/GroupWise/Membership

Hi FarOut

Thanks for the tip, but I can't see the user in the Groupwise Membership list either.

I'm running the PO rebuild tomorrow, will let you know how it goes and whether this fixes the problem.

Make sure you have also deleted the nds object from the container. I had a user that just wouldn't go away and I finally discovered the nds object was still in existence. Once I removed that then the groupwise object also disappeared.
