Hi
I have a client running Novell 4.11, which is running my software. Now, one of the users has a very low access level, and is therefore only given (read only) access to a certain file in the data directory of my program, in order to run a report.
However, as part of the month-end processing, the software must zap and pack all the data in this certain file, which, because of the way the database software works (it's Vis Fox), means that the file is actually deleted and then re-created in order to give a blank file.
When the file is deleted, this has the affect of removing the file from the user's permissions, and therefore prevents him from running the report until he is re-entered.
I was wondering if there is a way to stop Novell automatically removing deleted files from user permissions?
Thanks for your help.
