Deleted Contacts

I have a user who has managed to "move" a second level contacts folder to a sub folder directly below it. By doing this, all contacts disappeared. I have tried to replicate it but have a permissions error as expected.

If anyone can shed some light on the situation the that would be helpful.

Are you using Exchange?
Were the contacts in a private or public folder?
Is synchronization turned on?
Do you have export back ups to a pst file? Glenn
