Deleted Calendar Data...Is It Recoverable?

This morning, in an effort to do some cleanup, I inadvertently deleted my Calendar data from within GW5.2. Is there some way to recover it? I presume restoring from a backup is one (the only?) option but I'm certainly hoping for something less drastic. I'll appreciate insights from more experienced users.

Thanks.

Brian

Did you empty your trash??? If you have not yet then restore the items from your Trash. I don't think you can restore this data from backup but I will check into it and see.

Should I say it's not "Easy" to restore the calendar items. As with deleted mail, you will need to do the same thing to get the items back on the calendar.....Below is the TID for recovering the items, it's not as easy as restoring the files from backup. Read it and you will see.

David,

Thanks for the TID. During my search of Novell I was unable to find this so I'm very appreciative. Now to see if it will work for me....

Not a problem, I had some success doing this but for lost mail. Its a little cumbersome but I was able to get it back, took me a few days to do it but it helped. Wish you the same luck I had.

In a nutshell,

If you restore the data to a "temporary" area on a File Server, you should be able to...

* Point the GroupWise Client by Drive Mapping to the PO Directory
* Login as the User
* Configure the GroupWise Client ARCHIVE option settings to point to a new Archive file
* Archive the Calendar info
* Exit the GroupWise Client
* Point the Client back to the Production PO
* Login as the User
* Un-archive the info.

Good Luck.

Thank you to sobak and salserocito for your input. I had, in fact, already emptied my "Trash" so that was no longer an option. And, after doing some more reading and visiting with a tech who has more experience than I in this regard, I concluded it probably wasn't worth the risk of corrupting any portion of the database just to retrieve my "Calendar." But I was able to go into my "Archive" and retrieve some of the deleted items. The balance had to be re-entered from memory (scary stuff....). Thanks, again, for the helpful suggestions.
