Good day. I'm in the process of trying to free up some space in my ORACLE_HOME.

It seems to me that deleting or archiving the many zip files which come with an Oracle install would be as good a place to start as any, but I don't want to proceed without exploring the possibility that these are in some way used dynamically by Oracle. My guess is that they aren't, but can anyone confirm that view, please? Thanks.

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Once you "unzip" the install files, they are no longer needed to install Oracle.

But maybe to save space, you could remove the "unzipped" install files and move the "zip" files to CD or some other location.

PS: Both are only used during software install. [3eyes]

Thanks - that was my assumption too. Have a star for your confirmation!
