Hi everyone !!

I need to speed up my 'end of day' task,(1+ hr) do you know guys if is posible to delete some 'part' of the pm history and keep the rest? currently is running the 8th period of the year, let's say , is there any way to delete January to July ?
This is only for speed up purposes

Thanks

Hi hosehead78

micros 3700 v3.2 sp7 hf6 under w2000 server, mi server is a Xeon based Dell poweredge sc1430 2gb ram and 500gb hd

You have to Archive or trim the data. I don't know off hand how to do this with 3700, or even if it would be suggested.

There is no way i know of to trim part of the data as everything in PM gets linked once something is received and then most tables can not be deleted. The only way i have found is using "Clear All PM Totals"......but that does exactly as its says and deletes all history. You can then go in and delete unused inventory items, recipes, etc but you will have lost all other PM data and totals. So if you don't mind starting over.....this is a way you can go. We have a lot of PM information but it only takes at the maximum 10 minutes to run the PM end of day procedures. Do you run the PM procedures nightly?

Hi Wildbar
I do receiving, transfers etc etc in daytime(9 to 5 in the morning),the next day enter the phisical inventory, recoincile etc etc, probably until 11am every day so far, for the same bussines day, and then do the 'end of day' task. at this point it takes 1+ hr 'endig the day' to start another bussines day and so on,(receiving, transfers etc etc) every single day the same.

That's why I'm asking how to speed up my 'end of day'

Look in "PM Parameters" and see what "Inventory Transaction Posting Method" You Are Using.
"Real Time" will speed up things up when using PM but could slow down front of house POS usage depending on your server hardware setup. Also check your "Purging Settings" and make sure nothing is set for too many days.
What is the "End Of Day" task you reference? Is it an autosequence? I will look at your 3700 log in a bit

Yes is 'Real Time' and Yes the 'end of day' is an autosequences

I look 'POS Config', 'Reporting', 'Historical Totals' and the 'Classes' tag, and shows this
'Historical Totals Record View'
'Number ' 110 and 'Name' PM Totals
Tracking Group is '109 Standar'
Number of Days History is '370'

and the 'Do not créate daily total' IS NOT CHECKED

BTW right now while I'm texting this the 'end of day' task is running since 10:20am and it's 11:39am still working
'Validating ilcg_itm_day_stk_dtl´
'Validating invent_itm_gtrans_dtl'

etc etc

There are some PM historical total options in "PM Setup, Paramters"
Quick look at your log and the end of night procedures take a long time....looks like something is getting hung up.
When was your last system reboot? Database rebuild?

On the other hand in 'Setup, PM Parameters, Purging' shows next

Daily RVC composite menú ítem totals 0
Daily RVC fixed period composite menú ítem totals 0
Daily system composite menú ítem totals 400
Daily system fixed period composite menú ítem totals 0
Inventory ítem transaction details 60
Inventory ítem totals 400
Historical Inventory ítem totals 0
Historical Allowance ítem totals 0
