Delete pages gives error: incorrect PDEobject type?

When I try and delete pages out of a PDF file, I get the error:

"incorrect PDEobject type"

The pages won't delete.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

...pde files are photodeluxe images...

...try printing to pdf again from acrobat using the pdf printer driver to create another pdf...

...you could also try saving to postcript file from adobe and then re-distilling the postcript file using adobe distiller, but only if you have the proper acrobat installed...
