Hi

I have imaged a new server from an old one, as you can imagine there are a few hardware changes including the NICs. Although not perhaps the best way to do it, it's working fine.

My problem is that the old nics which are no longer present have kept their settings but are now hidden from the network connections control panel. So when I configure the new NICs it complains that the IP addresses are in use by the old NICs that i can't see.

Although it works fine I would like to delete the old NICs from the system... how can I do this when they are hidden?

Thanks

H

I went through the same issue a while ago and found this after some searching:

I actually found it on another site but the key environment variable is 'set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices'. I actually uninstalled quite a few other devices that were no longer present as well.

Found it, for anyone else it's this from a command prompt

set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
start devmgmt.msc

Ah sorry Andy, you replied when I was typing my reply, have a star anyway :)
