Delete mail without opening next mail?

When I delete an email after reading it the next mail is automatically opened. Is there anyway to stop this and just return to the Inbox? Running v6.51.

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.

ESCape from the mail you are reading before deleting it.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm advising people to do at the moment, but I'm getting complaints that it's too long winded. You know what people are like! It doesn't look like this is possible on the client so we'll probably end up changing the template on the server.

Changing the template will not do, it is a Notes client function, it is not a template function. Like when you're reading a message and you press Enter, it goes to the next message.
The Notes client will do that in any view of any database, not just the mail database.
