im on WinXP and trying to print to an HP LaserJet 4, I suspect I need to delete the ip printer port and try again. When I go into the properties of the printer (from Printers and Faxes) and I go to the ports tab, I see the IP port highlighted, but when I try to delete it, it says the Requested Resource is in Use. Does anyone know how I can delete that port and start over installing this printer?

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

On the Ports tab, click on "File" so a checkmark appears beside it. Click apply. highlight the port you wish to delete (without making a checkmark appear). click delete port.

You can not delete an active port(one that is selected for use)

Have fun
