We have an existing PRI line and are changing carriers, currently we accept 4 digits (DN) the new carrier tells us they can only send 10 digits..Can someone help me out as to where we need to make change to strip 6? digits....
Thanks.

the vendor is giving false information ...
ask the vendor to give to give the call to the switch translation ...
2,3,4 ...7 digits is what the norstar can handle

who is the new carrier out of curiosity

Thanks for the input...Currently PRI is with Qwest, now they are switching to POPP Telecom, local interconnect in the Minneapolis area. They said they are using a CO switch I never heard of sounds japaneese to me..not sure though.
But you are saying Norstar can not take more than 7?
Bob

7 digits is the max ...

some CO switches

Siemens EWSD
Ericsson AXE
Nortel DMS
ATT ESS (4 or 5)
Alcatel 600USP

ask POPP to configure for NI2 standard ...just bypass the sales/project coordination and talk to someone technical

senk1s is correct. Sounds like the sales guy is talking about caller id information and not the digit length that you are talking about to rout the calls.

Sound like everyone is on target...there is a good possibility that the 10 digits is for outgoing not incoming
