Delete IE5 history from profile 1

Hi,

How do I delete the IE5 history from my profile?

I have tried options->clear history (and I've set the 'days to keep history' to 0). But the files still exists in my profile (c:\Documents and Settings\MyUserName\Local Settings\History\). I've also tried to delete them directly from explorer - but it a no go...

Can I move the history files out of my profile (like the temporary files)?

I just want to reduce the size of my profile and I don't need 8 Mb of internet explorer history!

Can you log on as Administrator? You should be able to delete them from there in explorer (though not sure if this is a good idea).

I do have administrator rights of my pc - it makes no difference! Sunaj

I meant log on as another user with Administrator rights. The reason its not deleting is possibly because you are logged into the profile you are trying to delete from.

The network administrator could delete my history - here is a star for that.
I still need to figure out how to permanently persuade Internet Explorer not to place the history in my profile...

ps. I tried to make a new local administrator user, login in as that user and delete the history in my own profile - but that did not work (access denied). Sunaj
