Delete Field off Contact 2 Table

Hi,
I'm trying to do some Database cleanup on our companies goldmine tables. We are running 5.5 but are upgrading to 6.5 and before the upgrade I want to remove some fields off the contact2.dbf. I have removed them from the app but they still are on the contact2.dbf, How do I get rid of them?

Any help is appreciated.

I used GoldBox utility and it updated the dbf table fine.

remove them and then rebuild the contact2 table.

that was the thing, you have to remove them within goldbox not goldmine because rebuilding the contact2 table still left them on the contact2 table. This is a known bug in Goldmine because I found it on there knowledgebase without an explanation on how to fix it.

Well, I wrote a decent amount of the content in that knowledgebase and can tell you that GoldMine is certainly capable of rebuilding it's own contact2 table and removing some fields.

The only case where I can think you might encounter a problem is if you're on MSSQL and have over 233 custom fields. At that point, you would not be able to rebuild the contact2 table through GoldMine at all.

Search goldmine knowledgebase and it about deleted fields not removed from database table in GoldMine 5.5 and you will receive the article I'm talking about. I don't know why it does this it just does?
