If you want to get rid of the DN, for conflict reasons, you can Change DN to an out of range number ( 7777 or something ). This will make that extension number invalid ( if you changed, for example, ext 2222 ).
I replaced my 7316E with an I2004 upon doing so I had to change my DN from the I2004 to what was on the 7316 which was my original extention. That has seemed to have caused a lot of problems with my extension and its funcitionality. So I just wanted to delete the extension that the I2004 first pulled when it did its auto register. If there is a better way I am all ears.
If you go to the IP telephony and open the Nortel IP terminals you can right click on the IP phone in the IP phone window and select deregister DN. That should free up the extension.
