Delete and create a new query with code (VB)

I have about a 1000 seperate access files that need updating. They have a pre defined query that needs to be deleted ( or just renamed) and a new one created. Can this be done using ADO, ADOX or DAO?

Yes you can do it. You will have to use ADOX (or DAO if you more comfortable)
