Delete All Printers at Startup

I would like to create something like a bat or vbs that would either delete all printers at startup or select the printer connected and make it default.

Reason Why:
I have 4 toughbooks in various ambulances. At each hospital is an HP Deskjet 3845. They are connected via USB as you know each USB connection uses its own driver and virtual USB drive. So when the medics hit print and are not at the hospital with the printer that is default it gets lost in the queue of the other printer. So basically I have 3 printer that are the same but install 3 times on each toughbook. It seems the easiest solution would be to delete the printers at startup and have the OS autoload the printer each time its plugged in. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the printer spooling? I have posted a different question here (kind of the same nature) and the responses I got was to set up spooling. This will cause the print job to roll over through all the loaded printers untill it finds one that is available. I hope this helps. Have a nice day!!!

Could you please point me to that post? I have not setup the printer spooling. I'd like to know how. This would definately solve my problem. If they could print and then the spooler would find an available printer to use that would definately solve the problem.

I have good news and bad news...I looked for the thread, and it was on a different site which encountered technical difficulties, and it was lost. But, I might be able to help you. Open the printers section (start, control panel, printers and faxes) right click on the printer, go to properties (on the bottom) click on the ports tab and on the bottom of the page is an option to enable printer pooling (I thought it was spooling, Opps) check that and apply. I am using XP, so yours might look a little different, but it should be there somewhere. Give that a try, and let me know. Hope this solves your problem. Have a nice day!!!
