Hello, there was an old thread1329-1262652 wich spoke about deleting network element, i have to delete about 500 network elements. can someone tell me the quickest and easiest way to do this.

No fast and easy way to do this through ESM. You can FTP into the controller and delete the database files, then reboot, but I don't remember which specific files are involved. Mitel product support should be able to tell you this. be VERY careful if you do this, since you're screwing around with the raw system data.

louislaan,

I was the one who originally posted that thread and was never able to wipe out the NE lists easily. Mitel did try to help but in the end could not find a way to do it since the NE form is actually pulling it's info from several different databases on the system. I was forced to delete each entry individually. I never did get that project completed due to my company (CompUSA) going out of business in Jan. '08.

The systems were all on the last 7.x release at the time we closed up shop so I do not know if anything has improved in the later releases but I do know it took on average around 1.5 minutes to delete each element which really sucked.

Good luck,

Dale
