Hi all,

I have an engineer that is putting together a timeline in project pro 2013. She currently has a local resource and would like to replace it with one on the EPM. When she goes into the Resource pool for the EPM and selects both the resource to be replaced and the one to replace it, then hits the replace button she gets an error message that say "Resource NAME has actual reported. They will remain on the team, but their remaining work will be reassigned to resources NAME"

Steps taken:

Open Project from the EPM
Go to the Resource Tab
Add Resources
Build Team from Enterprise
Press the OK button on the Filter page (no filters are applied)
Under Enterprise Resource, select the resource name
Under Project Resources, select the resource to be replaced
Press the Replace button (error occurs at this point)

Both of the resources are set as work resources.

How can we clear this error? It is very important.

Thank you,

Mike

The message you are seeing is not an error - it's an alert that the assignment of the local resource to the task has actual hours recorded. If you want to replace the entire work on the assignment, you'll need to set the actual work to zero and then replace.

This seem like the Memory Hole In Nineteen Eighty-Four.

What has happened has happened the way it happened and to deny that it happened is to deny the truth of the past.

Yes, in Project - the past (actuals) is the primary source of the truth.
