I have done my research on this and found 2 solutions:
1.) Disable SMB signing on the workstation or server.

I cannot do this, only one of my workstations is receiving this error and I do not want to disable SMB just for one workstation.

2.) Contact MS and install a hotfix that they send you.

I did contact MS and obtained the hotfix. I installed it and it did not solve the issue.

Has anyone else ran into this problem? Or does anyone have any clue what may be causing this to happen. All the help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I still argue this is a video driver issue. I know that sounds like the last thing to consider for a failed write error, because it sounds like just a hard disk issue.

Update your video drivers.

Here are some links pertaining to this hard to solve problem, please ignore those already researched by you.

bcastner and linney,

Thanks for the help. I did update the video drivers and checked those links. I even changed the SMB signing on the server. I did all this last week and then the error returned this morning. I can post the event log if needed. Anyone have any more ideas or thoughts on what may be causing this??

Thanks again guys,

Chris

I encountered this same problem before on a Dell GX260 with a 3C509 PCI NIC installed, and the hotfix from MS did not solve the problem.

I replaced the NIC with an Intel Pro and used the latest
driver, and the problem went away.

The machine has been working okay since then.
