delayed message waiting lamp

Hi Guys installed a KXT-D 1232 with a TVPS50 about 6 weeks ago it has been working OK then I had a call from the receptionist who said that she went out to lunch and the message light was not on but when she came back it was on checked the messages & finds that they are date time stamped up to two or three days in the past but the message waiting light has not been on. This has happened before Did not say if she had heard interrupted dial tone. Any ideas.

Go into the VPS programming and set MWL for every message as YES.
Going by memory, you should find it under system parameters > message waiting.

Hi Pat thank you for that good thought. Yes it is set She got stuttered dial tone but no light the other day. am wondering if the phone may have a fault on it. As a process of elimination I am about to replace the TVP 50 if it happens again. then the phone the the 1232D system.

In more than twenty years I have never seen a faulty MWL LED on a digital set. Neon lights fail oll the time, but a defective LED, though not impossible, is highly unlikely.

It's not likely the TVP50 either, as in not a physical problem. What version is it running? (the TVP50)

Is it safe to assume you're using DPITS integration?

You could easily upgrade it to v4.19 if it's older. That may straighten things out. Some earlier versions did quirky things.

Can you confirm the stutter is from a positive message waiting setting and not just the CFWD?
A message waiting indication stutter is two double stutters whereas a CFWD stutter is one triple stutter.

Hi Pat we turned off the MWl then turned it back on. it is the latest version of software, have been dialing in at odd times to check to see if there are any messages waiting. when I find some will then call Her to see what She gets but so far it has not repeated.I don't think that the opr would know the difference between the two stutters but will will just have to see what happens.
