Delayed Message Postings on Partner Messaging

I have a client that noticed messages are not posting to the system at the time they are left. She'll check VM at 2PM - no messages. Check again before leaving @ 5PM, and there would be a message from 1PM. Presently, they know it's happening on ext's 10 and 13. I'll be there later today to troubleshoot. Other than possibly faulty hardware, are there any other possibilities?

check the system time on the Partner ACS, it will call the Messaging every 30 minutes to update the time and if that one is off then the messaging time will be wrong too.

I checked the programming and it's fine. The customer says the trouble is intermittent. Is it possible the VM is failing, and hardware has to be replaced? What's the usual life expectancy of the Messenger hardware?
 
Is the message waiting light not lighting or is the message itself not even appearing? If it's the light, it could be the last port of voicemail is failing or not programmed properly as that is the port that controls the message waiting light. If it's just a 2-port mail, it could be the port is just busy and doesn't have time to send the message indicator.
