Delayed email still being delivered after deletion

I have a user who sent a message for delayed delivery which continued sending after it was supposed to have stopped. The original email was deleting out of the senders account and still it keeps being sent. Is rebuilding the ngwdfr.db my only option or is there somewhere else I can look for where this message is stuck?
