I am getting a delayed dial tone on all my phones I have a mix of 1140E and 3904's. It doesn't happen every time someone picks up a phone but a couple of time throught the day sometimes it will last 2 seconds and sometimes almos 20 to 30 seconds I was thinking it might be a timeslot issue as all my shelf are fully well packed I only have 8 TN's left and maybe one open slot but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Stat your TDS (Tone and Digit switch) if the all seem OK you may have another problem.

What system and Rls do you have?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I stated and tested my TDS loops everything came back ok. It's an CS1000M (multi group) RLS 4.5

How many superloops and how many sets on each. You may be running into a timeslot issue. Especially if you have a shelf 0 and 1 for each superloop. Any errors on the terminal when this happens?

I have about a 1000 sets spread over 4 loops. I also have about 50 IP sets.

That is about 250 sets per loop which is about a 2 to 1 ratio for time slots. Any errors?

Set up your traffic in LD 2 and see if your running into busy conditions

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Did this start all of a sudden?
Was there any maintenance done before this was reported?
(power downs, hardware changes, software upgrades)

How long has this been an issue for?

You have 1000M mulit group, Pentium or Motorola?
Is the system up to date with patches?

Is there a pattern to the people who are complaining:
ie. 1 superloop or spread across all loops? (you said all phones, including IP)

Do you have a signaling server? or Line card? (1140E)
Broadcast storms on the ELAN might bog down a CPU to a crawl.

Prt AHST in LD 22 to see if you have antying showing there.

Your buffers are set to high for the number of users on the switch. Remember that when you make a change to the buffers, you'll need to ini to get them to change. I would contact your vendor for further info on this or check out the memory calculations in the planning and engineering guide
