delay when answerin the phone on electra elite system

I am fairly new to the nec world of phone systems. On our electra elite, when you receive a call 75% of the calls you have to either wait or say hello twice before the other end hears you. Is their anyway to stop this from happening? According to my interconnect this is just how the system is.

It sounds like you are experiencing the Await Answer delay caused by a monitored transfer from the auto attendant. This can be corrected by using Release and call forward but its not something easily done by the end user. If you arent using the Auto attendant then I dont know what could be causing this.
