Currently I have Legend 7.0 w/ 007 VM and analog sets. I currently set up VM w/ day and night greeting. All is fine, mailboxs, selector codes, general mailbox etc..

I just need more rings for day greeting. Cureently its 2 1/2 rings. I need 4.

I followed these steps and still nothing change even when I did 50 sec.

- System Programming\Exit
- Extensions\More\Grp Calling\Line/Pool
- Use a calling group that has not used for anything else calling Group. For example 791
- Enter
- Enter each line number, or the pool number that the lines are in (the lines that you want to be setup as call handling)
- Hit enter after each entry
- Hit Back twice
- Grp Calling\Overflow\791\Enter\770 (or whatever the Voice Mail calling group)
- Enter
- Number Based Overflow
- Delete whatever is there and enter 99
- Enter
- Time Based Overflow
- Delete whatever is there and enter the number of seconds before the AA should answer (each ring is about 5 seconds)
- Enter

Also when I try get night service to work w/ 1 ring or so (default) it does not.

-Night Service
-Cover CNTRL (enable)
-Group assignment

-calling group enter (770) * CANNOT ENTER 770 A THUMP SOUND HAPPENS!!!

Please help...

Do a print of your calling groups as a start, see if the lines are already assigned to a group. If so, you need to unassign them from that group before assigning to 791, or just adjust the overflow timer for the group that they are currently assigned to. And do you dial 770 to reach the voice mail, or something else??

Yes I dial 770 to reach VM.
I printed out the group calling info. Let me know if you see something wrong. I only need 803 and 804 to work on AA the rest are trunk to trunk w/ direct VM.

Your programming looks spot on - lines 803 and 804 assigned to 791, overflowing to 770 after 50 seconds.

You made a mailbox 791 with a COS of 15?

Are you in Key or PBX mode?

Do you have the lines/pools assigned to the VM port extensions, 34/35/36/37?

What happens if you simply Intercom to 791? 50 seconds of ring/beep and then the AA answers?

Key setup
VM port 34 and 35 have 803 and 804
VM Port 36 and 37 have no lines assign

I can't dial 791 at the time because I'm not at location and am to lazy to program with merlin mail direct transfer.

Key setup
VM port 34 and 35 have 803 and 804
VM Port 36 and 37 have no lines assign

There's your problem - the calls are not really routing from 791 to 770, they are ringing directly (probably set to delayed ring) on the actual VM ports. (34 and 35).

Remove those lines, or at least set them to NO ring, and try again.

That works it rings the seconds I program! Thanks!

But...The Auto Attendant message comes on sometimes and sometimes I get "The General mailbox is full transfering call" and it will keep looping that message??? Any ideas why this does this??

General mailbox is usually the Dial-0/Timeout option of the Night menu - and it is mailbox 9991. Are you using it, and have you checked to see if it is full?

Ok I change the dial-o/timeout to now go to ext.10 which i setup for general mailbox.
I did have a full general mailbox 9991 of 82 message...oops.

I still get a short pause when calling in from outside, then the merlin mail says "Transfering call".

So now what is happening is that the call is ringing in group 791, and when it overflows to 770, there is no matching mailbox (791), so the 007 doesn't know what to do with it.

Log into the System Administrator's mailbox, 9 for Programming, 4 for Mailboxes, 4 to create a new mailbox, 791# for mailbox 791, 15# for the Class of Service (to steer the call to Auto Attendant No. 1), 0-9 for the name, and *# when you are asked to record the name (it will say "nothing to approve", but that is in regard to the recording, not the mailbox itself)

NOW, the calls should be answered by the Auto Attendant, and the Dial-0/Timeout option will take the caller to 10, where you just set it.

I did do this in the beginning...

Steps to follow under the Voice Mail Administration

- Enter in Administration mode
- Select Extension and dial 791#
- If asked for class of service, selectr 15#, otherwise select Automated Attendant instead of assigning a mailbox and follow the steps to assign the proper selector codes (Menu options that you want some one to press after listening to the Automated Attendant and the message that you want users to hear.

Still no fix?

Well now you have to go to the location, or have someone at the location dial 791 and tell you what happens. If the AA answers that, but not the Incoming calls, calls are still routing to the VM in another manner.
