On a Merlin Magix with a Merlin Messaging, Vmail works fine but delay to ring V.M. during day gets answered with
"please hold while i transfer you to the operator" instead of day message. When night button is active plays right menu.

What is the group number of the group overflowing to the voicemail group and is it associated with your auto attendant?

I suggest printing your Group cover stuff so we can see any obvious problems.

Sorry for not having alot of info...I have to return to that job site soon, it is a new v.m. install (the old one crashed and burned (hard drive), also a new customer, so the phone system was pretty much set, however because I was programming thru the phone (didn't have a 355af connector) I couldn't see what groups were already programmed. Debating just deleting the groups and starting the call coverage group from scratch.

So there is probably a calling group that overflows to voice mail for the delayed answering. The voice mail needs to have a mailbox with the same extension number as that calling group, pointed to the Auto Attendant. Right now, with the call overflowing to voice mail, and no matching mailbox, it is getting transferred to the Operator.

Do you have WinSPM back at your office, and can you call in and get transferred to the modem to get a print of the dial plan and calling groups?

If so, you could probably figure it out without going on site, and then create the necessary mailbox.

I called and had the operator transfer me to *10 and received the modem tone, tried to log in and got to the system password point, since my company didn't originally install it, I don't know what the password is, tried looking up the default, not sure what the default on 4.0 is, may have to go on site to change it, or if anyone knows what the default SHOULD be maybe I am typing in the wrong one, please e-mail me with the default if known.

Ok got logged in, figured out that the group is 6993, so on the v.m. side what do i have to do now, i created a box 6993 but how do I point it to the right msg instead of 6993 msg?

Go into vm and create the mailbox as auto att 1. You made it a mailbox instaed of auto att, option 3.

Thanks all, I finally got into the system with SPM and saw what they had originally, working now.
