MICS 5.0 upgraded to 6.0 still same problem.
It only happens on calls coming into the Norstar switch on PRI, all channels. Inbound caller can hear the Norstar user, but Norstar user can't hear inbound caller for approx 2-3 seconds after which the call is fine. Tech says no errors in logs.
Telco claims to see no errors.
Seems to me like the call is not getting set up properly from D channel, but ?????????????????

As a primarily data tech, I wish Nortel would add some debug capabilities. If this were a data device I would suggest debugging q921 messages. As it is, you can't do that. Unless you have a T-Berd or something like that.

I am going to think about this. I will get back to you if you don't have an answer by then.

Ya commsguy, I've had my thinking cap on for this one. This was my first post for a question and thought that I did it wrong. No replies all day. It's not my system, but trying to assist a tech that I know. He is going to throw a different DTI at it on Monday. Doubt if that will fix it, but at least we can eliminate it.

It sounds to me like there is something wrong within the call setup. Is this connecting to telco or another switch? I have seen this with Voice over IP due to codec issues but that should not apply if it is a telco PRI.

It would be very helpful to have some way to watch the q931 call setup messages.
