Delay Hearing the Beep When Recording Voicemail

I have looked all over the Internet and cannot find a solution to my problem.

When an internal or external caller is transferred to the recipients voicemail the custom message is played but there is about a 10 second delay before you hear the beep to start recording

This can cause problems because the caller starts to talk before the recording has started (because they don’t hear the beep straight away).

I have checked the custom voice message file and the “beep” file and both are fine and have no long pauses.

Does anyone know a solution to my problem?

What versions are you running?

IP office?
VMPro or Lite or EVM?

i had this problem the other day on 4.1 something or other.

uninstalled and re installed voicemail.

all was good

Hi bas1234

IP Office is 4.2
Voicemail Pro is 4.2

TomMills: Did you uninstall VMPro or delete the voicemail node in VMPro?

How are you doing the transfer to voicemail? You mention a voicemail node...

The conventional way is to do

SC- #XXX
Feat - VoicemailCollect
TN - "#"N
LG - 0

and then transfer to #XXX

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

ok you have lost me.

When someone rings the user and they dont answer their voicemail kicks in.

I mean node as in go into VMPro and click add user and select Start-Leave-Disconnect.

you dont need to add a node for each user?

it will just drop straight into their mailbox. i would start by getting rid of those custom leave actions

Ah, a misunderstanding (on my part) to me transferring to voicemail is passing a caller to a mailbox, without ringing the phone.
