IP Office v9.1, using netgear QOS/POE switches everywhere, phones are on their own VLAN. When a call rings into a extension (I think outside only, not 100% sure) the person answering has to wait for 1-2 seconds before saying hello, otherwise the other party wont be able to hear them say it. Its a really odd issue. Happens on our local in-office phones and remote VoIP phones we have at remote sites that are connected back to us via a VPN tunnel. No difference. Any ideas where I can start looking?

Try to hard set the codecs to G711 only on both SIP trunk and phones.

Is the G711 setting under the System or individual exts? I haven't had the system very long so Im a newb. If its on the ext Ill set it on 1 as a test first. Thanks

If it is the phone release, is there a easy way to update the phones to a newer firmware and possibly fix it?
