This morning, Several of my users got the following Deilvery Status Notifications.

"Could not deliver the message in the time limit
specified. Please retry or contact your
administrator.
<mymailserver.mydomain.com #4.4.7>"

These message are reguardinng emails sent in the last two weeks with no order about when they were sent or to whom. Some of the emails were recieved when sent but still gave this error message. Where do I start to find this problem. As usuall, MS technet was not much help

Thanks
Mark

Hi!
Can you give us more info about your mail server.
What version are you running?
Is it open relay?
Try to send manually mail to some of these mail servers using the e-mail addresses which were unreachable.
NB!!! be sure that you are using the same DNS sevrer as your Exchange server.
The quickest way to do this is to open DOS console on your exchange server and type:
-----------------------------
telnet mailserver.problemdomain.com 25
mail from:myemailaddress@mydomain.com
rcpt to:problemaddress@problemdomain.com
data
subject:testing e-mail connectivity
Please respond!
.
quit
