I was experiencing slowing on some of my apps on my Win98 machine at home. I ran disk clean and cleaned out temp files, when I started defrag it just hung, I had no mouse response, no keyboard response, just the "busy" cursor. I waited about 10 minutes to see if it would start and it didn't so I gave it the 3 finger salute (ctl+alt+del). I rebooted, ran scandisk, tried defrag again, same thing again. I waited 10 minutes and 3 fingered it again. What could be causing it to hang? is there a defrag I can use without windows being up? Thanks for your help.

Jon
Jon Zimmer
b0rg@pcgeek.net

You WILL be assimilated, or we can write a script to parse you out.
