We have a remote connection site (construction trailer) on our property that has a MM Fiber connection to our main building. We are looking for a device that will allow us to use 6400 definity station sets over the fiber. We have looked into putting IP phones up there, but the quality has been a complaint.

Does anyone know of any converters that can be used? We will most likely have 4-5 stations on the remote end so it doesn't justify an EPN. Thoughts? Ideas?

Look into a Definity extender products manufactured by MCK.

Statements expressed in this post are my own opinions and should not be considered as the opinion of my employer.

Schned is right on. We currently use MCK extenders for a location (1500 miles away). They work excellently. Certainly will be more cost effective than an EPN.

I agree, I use an extender for a clinic across town and it has been very reliable.

I agree with the replies above. We just couldn't get our managers to buy the MCK equipment no matter how we showed the usfulness for, in our case, telecommuters.
Lucent at one point did offer equipment to extend digital station across a fiber link. It was fairly simple to install but I do know the cost of the equipment. Probably a lot more expensive than using MCK. Plus asking Avaya to find and install this equipment.
