Anyone here good at definity ip?

I have a question, basically its about doing inter-region connectivity on the definity with IP phones, I want to be able to do settings like this.. All from the same switch.

Phone in region A talks to Phone in region A at G.711

Phone in region A talks to Phone in region B at G.729 and vice versa

this is possible on the callmanager, which is why I'm asking..

Do any of you know how to administer the phones to be in different regions and how to actually administer the region setup? I can find no documentation about..

The reason being for this is remote sites. I don't want to run G.711 across a WAN link.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Buckweet,

I don't have the exact information but I know there are options.
If you program an ip-trunk between to definity's you can choose the codec for that trunk. (from release 9)
NOTE: The codec ordering must be the same on DEFINITY switches at
both ends of an H.323 trunk connection. The set of codecs listed need
not be the same, but the order of the listed codecs must be the same.

I know the MultiVantage release (or R11) does support multiple regions, would not know exactly in you specific need how the setup would look.
Try getting info from your AVAYA or BP rep.

Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.
