Definity Processor Shelf / Cab ?

Guys,

Anyone know whether it is possible to use a very old processor shelf (say from version 2 or 3) - the one with a tape drive slot - with a the newer versions (such as 6 to 9) ?

Is a back-plane upgrade needed ?

I am assumong G3i simplex configuration. You can use the older versions of
the control carrier with new software loads. Depending on the J number
of the control carrier you may need the 2400B sandwich pack to bridge the
packet bus.
