Hello All,

I have an MCC cabinet that the fan assembly has stopped working causing a minor cabinet alarm. The assembly appears to be powered by a 631DB1 Power Unit in the bottom of the cabinet. The LED on the front is currently red. I have removed power and tried to reset but red LED remains on. Is this an indication that the power supply is bad? If it is working correctly, should the amber LED be lit? This occured after the PBX was powered down for about 3 minutes during an electrical service interuption for maintenance. This system is pre 1993 and to the customer's knowledge, has never been powered down. Is it safe to say that the unit is bad and a new one will fix my issue? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all in advance!!

Tommy, I would go through the manual and run the test and check voltage where it says to. It could be a bad power unit of just a fuse. I blew a couple fuses a while back and the manual pointed me right to the ones that were bad .

You can look at this for the test relating to the power alarms you have. Page 1201 gives you a break down on what the power distribution unit feeds and how.
