We are looking to offer numerous hoteling cubes in various locations in our large building. The main problem is that these new hoteling cubes are not managed by someone, the visiting employees will come and go on their own. There won't be an admin who can assist if the user has a problem logging in. We are trying to find the best/easiest/slickest way to allow these cubes to maintain a working dialtone plus allow visitors to come in and receive their own calls at that desk. We have thought of PSA codes; TTI codes; agent extensions; or call forwarding. The phones would have to be active even when no one is logged there for the day. The problems would come when someone forgets to logout/unforward their phone at the end of the day. Is there a nice solution that lets visiting employees activate their ext on a visitor cube but doesn't cause problems the next day when the new person tries to use the phone and the old person forgot to unforward/logout?

How about them using IP SoftPhone? They could point their number to that phone while they are sitting there.
