I need a little help determine the configuration for our pri for our phone switch. We are switching over to cisco and i need to provide the vendor the pri configuration and the digit delvery type. We have a very old G3, I just cannot seem to locate this information in the switch. Any information would be of great help.
thank you

Do 'display ds1 xxx'. That will give you the line coding (D4 or ESF) and theframing (zcs or b8zs) and the service type (robbed-bit, common-channel, isdn-pri, or isdn-ext).

Display the trunk group next and it should tell you if the PBX s doing any digit manipulation (insert/delete).

this is what the technicain is asking me for is there a way to find this in the sytem.

thank you once again

"I don’t see the switch type any were “NI or ESS”. That isn’t a big deal as we can change it on the fly. The fact that we know it shows ISDN PRI is the main info we need on the switch side.

Number of digits being delivered from the telco would also be useful although we could work around on cutover night worst case."

Code:
Ds1 board Protocol:
o A = Custom or NI1 National. This is typically used when your T1 comes out of
  an AT&T 4ESS Central Office.
o B = NI2, and is typically used when your T1 comes out of a 5ESS Central Office
This is the only protocol capable of giving the customer NAME and number
Caller ID. You always prefer this protocol if the vendor can provide it!
ISO/ETSI QSIG. Also used for SBS signaling trunks.
o C = Nortel Custom. This is a new protocol, and is sometimes used when your T1
comes out of a Nortel DMS Central Office. RARE. ETSI public network.
o D = NI2 ECMA QSIG European Computer Manufacturer's Association (ECMA) QSIG
private network (supports only Name Identification and Additional Network
  Feature Transit Counter (ANF-TC))

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"
