definity audix "no communication ports"

i have rebooted an audix due to an issue of attempting to log in and getting a "no communication ports" error in ASA. after the reboot, i am still getting the same error when attempting to log in. voicemail is up and running, functioning normally. anyone have any way to clear up this communication port issue? thanks.
