Defining Alerts in Analysis Services

Hello everybody,

Is it possible to define "alerters" in MS Analysis Services, as it is in Business Objects and other OLAP tools ? e.g, is there a mean to define a criteria like "if the annual amount spent by a customer is 20% above the average customer amount, send an e-mail to [the gift responsible]".

Is it feasible with MS Analysis Services, or should I use another tool or SQL Server functionality ?

I don't think it's feasible in AS alone, check Notification Services on Microsoft's site.

Hi,

You can use the new Reporting Services (a new part of SQL Server) which is included in new releases. This, report generator, has the alert functionality.
