Okay, here is my problem. I have a LAN on a private Class B subnet (172.16.0.0) that is setup with a Windows NT domain "HUEY". All user accounts, servers, PC's, and other resources that I want to manage with SMS server are located in the "HUEY" domain.

There are two other domains that exist on the same 172.16.0.0 subnet, "DEWEY" and "LOUIE", that are controlled and administered by separate entities. Hence, I do *NOT* want my SMS server located in the "HUEY" domain to manage any resources in these other domains.

If I setup Network Discovery to search the 172.16.0.0/16 subnet, it pulls information from all pc's on that subnet into the dbase, including those from DEWEY/LOUIE. Unfortunately, it also "Assigns" all of these resources to the site because they match the 172.16.0.0/16 subnet.. including those on the DEWEY/LOUIE domains.

I want to know if there is a way to setup SMS to assign potential clients to an SMS site based on if the subnet matches the subnet in Network Discovery, AND if the client PC's are members of the "HUEY" domain only.. hence, it would discover all clients on the 172.16.0.0/16 subnet, but only assign PC's that were members of the "HUEY" domain to the site (hence, allowing client install to only those machines).

The obvious answer would be to select "Windows NT Logon discovery," and "Windows NT Logon install" which would only detect/install to pc's logged into a specific domain. There are 2 main problems with this also:

1) Most servers are not logged into very often, and I did not want to have to manually login to each machine in order for it to be discovered/installed

2) Several PC's in the "DEWEY" domain are used by users that have user accounts in the "HUEY" domain, and therefore login to the "DEWEY" PC with their "HUEY" userid. This would discover/install the client on a "DEWEY" PC because someone from the "HUEY" domain logged into it. I want to specifically say 'only COMPUTERS that are members of the domain get the client, regardless of who logs into them'

Anyone have any ideas? Technet and the Administrative Guide have been no help. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated
