Hi I using Act! V9, In Contacts I used Define Fields under Tools to rename User 1 to User 5 on the User Fields tab with no problems. Later I went back and used the same procedure to change the name of User 6 but I can't get it to work. The name appears changed when in Define Fields but when I go back to Contacts it shows as User 6. I tried it a couple of times but no luck. I also set up a drop down list for the field and that works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peter in Winnipeg

It could be the label in the Layout...

If you use the Contact List, select Add Colums and see what the field is called.

If it has the new name, then change the label in the layout editor

It has the new name, so I changed the label in the layout editor.

I just can't figure out why when I use the define fields that it sometimes changes the name and sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks

When adding a field to the layout, you can use the field name, or a test box and put anything there.

If a test box, it wont change when changing the fiend name in Define Fields, but it allows you to put other information or formatting.
