Running Arcserve 6.5 on NT 4.0. Working with a changer with no cleaning tape slot defined. How do I define a slot to indicate it has a cleaning tape? Tried Arcserve's support site but, as usual, found nothing but a bunch of useless information! [sig][/sig]

I think this gets done when you install the tape library option. I would try re-installing that although you might want to ask yourself first how often your tape head actually needs cleaning. I never clean mine and have no problems. [sig][/sig]

Re-run device configuration. After slots have been defined etc. you will reach a screen with your library's name displayed and a properties button. Highlight your library, hit properties and define a cleaning slot from there.
And I would advise cleaning the heads every 100 hours. [sig][/sig]

Also, if you are using a bar-code system for the tapes, there is a special bar-code for cleaning tapes. This way, you can put it in any slot and it will automatically detect it.
