I am trying to figure out how and why Flash software cards go defective and just quit working. I have 3 of the 2.0 that I can not get to work. Are these repairable, and if so, where can I send them to get fixed?
This isn't a solution to your problem, but the only Flash memory cards I have seen go have been the result of power surges. Never never never install a Flash without a good quality UPS. Startalk Flash has always been very succeptible to power fluctuations.
Some software cards are write-once which means once they are corrupted there's no fixing them. Even the rewritable type are probably physically damaged by electrical surges, although I've had some luck bringing these back to life.
Does anyone know where I can get these possibly repaired? If so, how much should I expect to pay? (I live in the Great White North.) Like I said, I have 3 or four of these and I think it would be a shame to toss them.
If you buy a flash card reader/writer and download the info of another. You should be able to then just copy the information onto a new card on the cheap!
I must say i havent tried it on the Norstar but have successfully done it on the Mitel and its the same principle. Once again i am in the UK so sorry for any differences i'm missing!

Has anyone tried this with flash? (Copy a good card- insert copy into a flash that is not working due to corrupted whatever, and have it work?) I have not tried, but am wondering if it is possible.
I am also wondering if the versions would have to be the same. In my mind I just think Nortel would design them in such a way so that this would not work.
